Our History

DKI – Lubnow Restoration was founded in the early 1980’s by Harry Lubnow. Harry was working for a small renovation contractor in the London area when a small tornado touched down and quickly caused considerable destruction to nearby properties. The company Harry worked for at the time, was responsible for assisting many of the displaced individuals. Working long hours, he helped bring normalcy back to as many people as quickly as he could. It was during this he realized how much he enjoyed being able to help people through a traumatic and stressful time. A few years later, feeling the pull to leave a positive impact on others, he left the contractor to start his own business.

What started as a small business, working with a few local London insurance companies, grew to a full-service restoration company offering complete emergency, content cleaning and restoration services. The growth of the company was sustained by core values, based on quality workmanship and happy customers. Over the years every employee has been instilled with these values, and the idea that if you are working on a project, you should be proud of the product you deliver. From the beginning of the business, until today, Harry’s genuine caring attitude towards customers and employees has built the company’s strength and integrity.

In 2010, Harry Lubnow Construction Inc. rebranded to DKI – Lubnow Restoration, which more accurately reflects what we do. At the same time, Harry’s son, Steve Lubnow took the reins of Lubnow Restoration. Steve continues to emphasis the values that begin with his father, that continue to set DKI-Lubnow Restorations apart.



Steve was prompt in responding and organizing the emergency work right away. He worked with us and our insurance to determine restoration needs, communicate work to be done and completed the work in a timely manner. Kevin who did most of the work in the unit was amazing at working with the tenants to make sure they were happy, he worked around their schedule and  the completed work was high quality. They went above & beyond to meet the many changes requested by the tenant and coordinated those with our property manager to ensure that things were done to our satisfaction and at a fair cost. I rescently had to deal with water damage from a flood in my home, something I have never experienced and never had to deal with. Lubnow Restoration was there for me about 1 hour after the incident even though it was early hours on a Saturday morning and from that moment on... they took care of everything. I was given the option through my insurance to choose another restoration company and there was no doubt in my mind I was choosing Lubnow, they made me comfortable. Nikko was assigned to my case and took amazing care of me the entire way. Nikko always communicated and explained everything to me throughout the entire process so I understood and knew what was coming (and answered my constant annoying questions lol sorry). There was a few supply chain issues which is happening everywhere now (no fault of Lubnow) which took some extra time but I tell you I have learned patience over the past 2 years with everything that has happened. The job is done... I am beyond satisfied and I reccomend anyone looking at my review to trust Lubnow Restoration.. They will make things as easy as possible for you...
